I've read good things about the Hornady bullets, Molon suggested it as the best out there in the 55 grain FMJBT class, IIRC. They are high quality plinking rounds to me. The top load in the Speer #11 Manual (one of the older manuals with the 4th printing in 1991) shows 28.5 grains of Winchester 748 as a top load in a .223 with a 55 FMJ bullet. Without getting my load book I think my 335 load with 55gr FMJ's is 24.5 as well. But my loads were more thatn 25.5 grains. I am not a speed freak so my standard load is 24.5 with whatever brass you have and a 55gr. most of the 55fmj bullets are made near identical as they are replacements for 55gr fmj military loads. .223 Remington - Manufacturer Loading Data.
